POLICE REPORT
About $1,800 in electronics were reported stolen following the burglary of a York Road home.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a residence in the 900 block between 4:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sept. 26 and took a 36-inch Sharp flat screen television and a Playstation 3 game system.
The sheriff’s office reported that the items were subsequently recovered by the Blacksburg Police Department but further information wasn’t immediately available.
A Goldmine Springs Road apartment complex sustained $5,800 in theft and damage losses after a thief targeted coin-operated washing machines.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone caused about $4,500 in damage to the washing machines at Magnolia Ridge Apartments between Sept. 18 and Sept. 24 while stealing about $100 from the machines and $1,200 from a money vault.
About $335 in lawn equipment was stolen from a South Johnson Street property Sept. 24.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone took a back-pack leaf blower and a Husky-brand weed trimmer from a property in the 500 block between 11:25 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported the theft of an air compressor from a Pacolet Highway convenience store.
According to a police report, someone sawed the coin-operated air compressor off a metal stand outside the Highway 150 Food Mart in the 2500 block of Pacolet Highway between 10 p.m. Sept. 23 and 4:30 a.m. Sept. 24.
The equipment is valued at $5,000.
More than $3,500 in guitar equipment was reported stolen from a 9th Street home following a Sept. 23 burglary.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a home in the 300 block between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. and took a white-colored electric guitar of unknown make, a black Fender bass guitar with a white face and a Martin D28 acoustic guitar.
A 25-year-old Henderson Street man was arrested on a drug charge Sept. 24 after the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at his residence.
According to a police report, Jeron Kennard Stevenson was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana after police located a large plastic bag containing less than one pound of suspected marijuana.
A Colonial Avenue resident was charged with a gambling-related offense after the Gaffney Police Department served a warrant against her on a different matter.
According to an incident report, police went to serve Anita Anne Crosby, 51, with an arrest warrant Sept. 22. While executing the search warrant, police said they observed five pull tabs related to gambling and also charged Crosby with possession of gambling devices. Police went to her residence to serve a warrant for financial identity fraud related to an April 13 incident that occurred at a local insurance agency, according to police records.
