Jason Marcum to perform at ‘Shindig’ on Oct. 8

The Shindig at the Gaffney Cabin free concert series will wrap up its fall season Thursday, Oct. 8, when Jason Marcum performs from 6-8:30 p.m.

Marcum, born in St. Louis, Mo., now resides in Greenville. He has established himself as a guitarist, drummer and bassist, acquiring several album credits. His influences include musical greats such as The Beatles, Todd Rundgren, Chris Whitley, Nick Drake, Elvis Costello, Otis Redding, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, U2 and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

He performs his own material as well as songs by the Allman Brothers, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, The Beatles, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Wilson Pickett, Jimmy Buffett, Johnny Cash, Pearl Jam, Hootie & The Blowfish, Bob Seger and others.

Sponsored by the City of Gaffney, the concert will be at the Michael Gaffney Cabin In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Capri Theater.
