A Gaffney firefighter is shown entering the home with an ax in his hand to look for any remaining hot spots. Fire damaged a kitchen in a mobile home located off Beltline Road on Friday.

All three Gaffney fire stations responded to the incident, which occurred inside Smith’s Trailer Park.

No injuries were reported.

Fire Capt. Robert Grigg said a grease fire broke out in the kitchen and flames extended into the cabinets around the stove. The fire was smoldering when firefighters arrived.

The kitchen area sustained fire damage while the remainder of the home sustained smoke damage.
