Earl Collin Butler, 62, of 1111 Draytonville Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Lockhart, he was the son of Mary Balentine Butler Thomas and the late Sammy Butler and the widower of Sandra Herrin Butler. Mr. Butler was retired from Southern Loom-Reed and was a member of Goucher Baptist Church.

Surviving is a son, Dennis Butler and wife, Elvira, of Fort Stewart, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Mikayla Butler.

The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 5, from 1-2 p.m. at Goucher Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Graveside services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the church cemetery with the Rev. Norman Gardner officiating.

The family will be at the residence.
