The Department of Social Services and the Salvation Army will take applications for Christmas assistance Oct. 12-16 from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. This is for children ages 12 and under only.

The following information must be provided for all household members: Social Security cards of everyone plus picture ID of person filling out application; proof of the amount of Food Stamps (this can be a printout copy from DSS or the letter received telling how much is being received; proof of all bills that are paid for the month and this includes all yearly bills – house insurance, taxes, car taxes; proof of income for the past four weeks of ALL household members (which includes AFDC, salaries, child support, utility check, alimony, Social Security, etc.) Applications will not be taken until all information is provided. This will be the only time that applications are taken.
