Gastonia, N.C., native

Betty Lou Fore White, 79, formerly of 203 Glenwood Drive, Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Gastonia, N.C., she was the widow of John Martin and Howard James White and daughter of the late Walter Riley Fore and Mae Balmer Fore. She was retired from the textile industry, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary C. Westmoreland and husband, Eddie, of Blacksburg, Rita E. Jarvis and husband, Ray, of Supply, N.C., Pat Peterson and husband, Richard, of Mt. Holly, N.C., and Diane Ellis of Clover; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five greatgreat grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Riley Fore Jr. and wife, Dot, of Dallas, N.C.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Walter Hendricks; a granddaughter, Pamela Marie Blackwell; and a sister, Vida Mae Mace.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Eric Sellers officiating.

Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of Mary and Eddie Westmoreland, 203 Glenwood Drive, Blacksburg.
