Morecraft BLACKSBURG – Holly Ridge Baptist Church is hosting a free conference, themed "The Authority and Sufficiency of Scripture," Friday, Oct. 23, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8-11 a.m.

Special guest will Dr. Joe Morecraft III, pastor of Chalcedon Presbyterian Church, Cumming, Ga. Pastor Morecraft has been Chalcedon's

minister since its inception in 1974. He is a preacher of the gospel and a noted lecturer on contemporary political and historical trends in the United States. His published works include two books, How God Wants Us to Worship Him: A Defense of the Bible as the Only Standard for Modern Worship and With Liberty and Justice for All: Christian Politics Made Simple.

Does God speak to us through our prayers or other people? People often say things like, "God told me...." Is there any danger in this? What does the Bible say? During the conference, Dr. Morecraft will answer these questions and others.

Dr. Morecraft will speak for two sessions each day and answer questions. There is no registration fee, but an offering both nights will be taken to offset conference costs. Everyone who attends will receive free materials that pertain to the conference topic. Refreshments will be provided.
