POLICE REPORT
A man and woman from Spartanburg were arrested Oct. 5 following a Gaffney Police Department investigation into a reported shoplifting at the Walgreen’s on West Floyd Baker Boulevard.
According to a police report, an officer saw a Walgreen’s employee chase a man outside the store at about 6:14 p.m. and saw the man who was being chased get into a black Hyundai that had a Florida license plate.
A Walgreen’s employee claims the man, identified in the police report as Gregory Robert Grice, 45, of Lone Oak Street, Spartanburg, took Primatene Mist medication from the store without paying. Another officer subsequently stopped the vehicle on South Logan Street and escorted Grice and the driver of the vehicle, Rosemary McKitrick, of Boyd Bridge Road, Spartanburg, back to Walgreen’s.
While investigating the matter, police said another couple drove by and claimed Grice had also taken a flower and vase from the Chik-Fil- A. Police said a flower and vase were found in the vehicle.
McKitrick was booked on a charge of larceny less than $1,000 while Grice was booked on two counts of a third or subsequent property offense. In addition, police claimed that Grice threatened to kill the arresting officers while at the Cherokee County Detention Center booking office. Police said warrants also would be issued to charge Grice with threatening the lives of public officials.
A pistol was reported stolen from a Dravo Road home recently.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took a .40 caliber Springfield XD pistol from a home in the 1000 block between Sept. 15 and Sept. 22.
The pistol is valued at $650.
The Gaffney Police Department reported a burglary on North Johnson Street.
According to a police report, someone broke out a window to a residence in the 100 block between Sept. 27 and Oct. 3.
It was unclear if anything was missing from the home.
