DEDICATED -- Rock Springs Baptist Church in Blacksburg held dedication services for a new Family Life Center on Sunday, Oct. 4. The new facility, which is adjacent to the church, houses classrooms, a gymnasium, kitchen and dining areas, a balcony, and meeting and storage rooms. During the dedication services, Rock Springs pastor, the Rev. Brian Harris, placed emphasis on prayer and the cross. A cross appears in the brickwork construction at the apex of the outside front of the building and also in the tile of the indoor gymnasium floor. A devotional book, "50 Days of Prayer," written by members of the congregation, celebrates the opening of the new facility and also the church's 50th anniversary, which is this year.
