Ernest Livingston
BLACKSBURG – Ernest "Ernie" Gerald Livingston, 60, of 623 Batchelor Drive, husband of Frawna Peterson, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late Herbert and Norma Thelen Livingston. He was president of South Carolina Distributors, DBA Herbie's Famous Fireworks, in the Cherokee Falls community of Blacksburg. He was a member of the CKC Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors, founder of the Cherokee Falls Community Outreach and a longtime member of the American Pyrotechnics Association, formerly serving on their Board of Directors. His generosity and kind heart touched the lives of many people.
In addition to his wife, Frawna, Ernie is survived by a son, Preston Hampton, of Blacksburg; a stepson, David Gordon of Blacksburg; a grandson, Grayson Hampton of Blacksburg; a brother, Allen R. Livingston and wife, Tina Hager, of Charleston; three aunts, Rose Kalmen, Elsey Wolfe and Gertrude Evans, all of Charleston; an uncle, Eddie Livingston of Charleston; three nieces, Norma Jean Bagnal of Clarksville, Tenn., Tina Livingston of Mt. Pleasant and Angel Martin of Blacksburg; nephews, Roy Young, Jacob Young, both of Clarksville,Tenn., Ernie Young of Charleston and Cory Worf of Fort Mill; grandnieces, Caroline Bagnal of Clarksville, Tenn., Tina Regulie of Mt. Pleasant, Kim Martin, Hannah Cosner and Brook Fortuna of the home, and Allison Hager of Charleston; grandnephews, Tommy Hager, Walker Hager, both of Charleston, and Robert Cosner of the home.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 511 Old Chester Road. At other times, they will be at the home.
A private family service will be held.
