Karen Wood Dover, 51, of 102 Apache Drive, wife of Mr. Bobby Joe Dover Sr., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at 4:30 p.m. at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg.

Daughter of Mariam Wood Jefferies of Gaffney and the late Albert Reid, she was born Nov. 25, 1957, in Cherokee County. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Wood and Donald Wood; and two grandparents, Baxter Wood and Winnie P. Wood. She was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. She was a 1975 graduate of Gaffney High School, and was employed by T.N.S. Mills.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three sons, Jarvis Dover of Gaffney, Bobby Joe Dover Jr. and Eric Rashund Dover, both of the home; her step-father, Cal Dean Jefferies of Gaffney; eight sisters, Felice Littlejohn of Gaffney, Tenisha Dowdy (Frank) of Charlotte, Jessica Martin Jefferies of Asheville, Marguerite Petty, Kathy Byars (James), Peggy Whittenburg (Frances), Margie Knuckles and Dianne Brannon (Willie), all of Gaffney; five brothers, Rev. Dennis Smith of Simpsonville, Avery Wood of Gaffney, Terry Wood Sr. of Columbia, Calvis Jefferies and Kikoman Martin Jefferies, both of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Tia Proctor and Mesha Good, both of Gaffney, and Maurice Wilson of Blacksburg; three aunts, Lillian Manning (Clinton), Nellie J. Smith (Vincent) and Emma Rossa, all of Gaffney; two uncles, Herman Wood (Lucille) and Harry Gist (Karrie), both of Gaffney; her foster grandmother, Christine Littlejohn; two other sisters-in-law, Mary Dover and Sandra D. Mitchum; one other brother-in-law, Michael Dover; three god-daughters, Lynette Peaks, Siya Adams and Anaiah Crosby, all of Gaffney; and a host nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be held Monday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C. A. Wallace and others officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The family is receiving friends at the residence, 102 Apache Drive.
