Bethel Baptist Church youths lead services on Youth Day

Sanders Jr., William Smith, Dymon Porter, Brianne Cannon, Ashley Hemphill, Dria Rankins, Shaquill Marlowe, Jabria Reid, LaBreshia Tate and Rashun Mayberry. Sanders Jr., William Smith, Dymon Porter, Brianne Cannon, Ashley Hemphill, Dria Rankins, Shaquill Marlowe, Jabria Reid, LaBreshia Tate and Rashun Mayberry. The youths of Bethel Baptist Church observed Youth Day on Sunday, Aug. 23.

Beginning with church school at 9:15 a.m., the following taught the various classes: Superintendent, Jabria Reid; Class and 2, Rashajun Mayberry and Ashley Hemphill; Class 3, Lacey Littlejohn and Dymon Porter; Class 4, Brianna Johnson and Joshua Tate, Class 5, Michael Cannon; Class 8, Malisha Smith; Class 9, Charles Lindsay and Tyron Lindsay; Class 10, Isaac Jamison; Class 11, Jennifer Littlejohn and Dria Rankins; Class 12, William Smith; Class 13, Shaquill Marlowe; and Class 14, Brianne Cannon.

Program participants were included: presiding, Michael Cannon; call to worship, Thomas Mayberry and Kelton Bridges; prayer of invocation, Toddasia Scruggs; hymn of praise, Shandria Halsey; responsive reading, Kelton Bridges; announcements, Donovan Davis; acknowledgement of visitors, birthdays and anniversaries, Shandria Halsey; offertory prayer, Kaelin Jefferies; introduction of speaker, L.J. Peake; altar prayer, Michael Cannon; and words of appreciation, L.J. Peake.

The Bethel Baptist Praise and Little Angels Dance Ministry also performed.

The pastor, Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr., delivered an inspirational message highlighting the need for positive role models among the Christian Community for young people and the urgency of training our youth with biblical principles.
