Old Beaver Dam School holds many special memories for couple celebrating 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wood
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wood of Gaffney celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2009.
Mr. and Mrs. Wood were married in 1959 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. They have a son and daughter-in-law, Ron A. and Trisha Wood of Concord, N.C., and a granddaughter, Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Wood were honored with a reception on June 27 from 5-7 p.m. at the former DeCamp House, which was the original Beaver Dam School. The couple met there in the first grade on the first day of school.
The event was hosted by their son and daughter-inlaw, Ron and Trisha Wood; their nephew, John Crocker and his wife, Renee; and their niece, Donna C. Reome and her husband, Rod. Sister-in-law Emma Crocker welcomed guests upon their arrival.
The wedding cake, made by Debbie Phillips, was a recreated version of their original wedding cake. The event was catered by Terri Dennis and the decor was provided by Renee Crocker.
A slide show presentation of the couple's wedding and life together was shown throughout the event. Their son Ron gave a heart warming and touching speech for the couple and their guests.
