 About $600 in equipment was reported stolen from a storage building on Lyman Street.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone took a Troy Built pressure washer and Husqvarna chain saw from a storage building in the 900 block owned by Wyatt Construction.

The thefts occurred between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4.

 The Gaffney Police Department is investigating a strongarm robbery that occurred Oct. 4 on Willow Street.

According to a police report, a 47-year-old man was walking in the 600 block at about 1:15 a.m. when he was approached by two other men, one of whom called out the victim’s nickname. The man said he was then slammed to the ground and that the robbers took his wallet, which contained $56 in cash and other contents.

 About $3,500 in electronics was reported stolen following the burglary of a West Rutledge Avenue apartment.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone entered an apartment in the 500 block between Oct. 4 and early Oct. 6 and took a television, a DVD player, a surround sound speaker system and a Playstation 3 game console.

 The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of numerous firearms from an Ashworth School Road building.

According to a police report, someone forced entry to a building in the 100 block between Oct. 3 and Oct. 5 and stole about $8,900 worth of guns and equipment.

Among the guns taken were: a .270-caliber Thompson/Center Arms rifle along with a .300- caliber barrel, a 12- gauge Browning shotgun, a 12-gauge Remington shotgun, a .30-30-caliber Marlin lever-action rifle, a .30- 30-caliber Winchester lever-action rife, a Remington model 870 shotgun, a .30-06-caliber Winchester rifle and a .30-06-caliber Remington rifle, and six other weapons of various makes and calibers.

The thief or thieves also took two Husqvarna chain saws and several air tools.

The Cherokee County Detectives Division and a crime scene analyst were called to the scene following the initial report.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported several acts of petit larceny in recent days.

According to one police report, a greencolored weed trimmer was stolen from the carport of a home in the 2200 block of Love Springs Road on Oct. 6.

According to another police report, someone took $170 in DVDs, groceries and clothing from a home in the 100 block of East Marietta Avenue on Oct. 6.

On Oct. 6 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., a thief or thieves took about $500 in lumber from a barn in the 1400 block of South Green River Road. According to a police report of that incident, the thief or thieves took 10 sheets of plywood, and about 50 boards.

 Police reported several acts of vandalism in recent days involving paint damage to vehicles.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone caused about $100 in damage by spray-painting a vehicle in the 400 block of East Junior High Road between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7 a.m. Oct. 7.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone caused about $1,500 in damage by putting red paint all over a 2000 Dodge parked in the 1200 block of North Granard Street between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7.

 About $2,200 in electronics was reported stolen following the burglary of a Sarratt Avenue home.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone gained entry to a home in the 400 block between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 5 and 7 a.m. Oct. 6 and took a 42- inch Vizio-brand flat screen television and a 32-inch Magnavox-brand flat screen television.

 The Gaffney Police Department is investigating a first degree burglary that was reported late on Oct. 7.

According to a police report, a group of males entered a home in the 400 block of Oak Street at about 9:30 p.m. while the homeowner was inside a bedroom. The group of men made off with a 42-inch Oleviabrand flat screen television and a cell phone valued at $670.

 The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported a burglary on Woody Road in Blacksburg.

According to a police report, someone forced entry to the home in the 100 block between 9:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. and took prescription medication, a pocket watch and a ladies’ wrist watch, pearl earrings, and other jewelry valued at a combined $1,764.
