Former Gaffney High star Sidney Rice had three catches for 61 yards as the Minnesota Vikings improved to 5-0 with a 38-10 victory over the St. Louis Rams.

Gaffney Post 109 is looking for experienced coaches from Chesnee, Broome, Blacksburg and Gaffney to coach the Post 109 American Legion team and the Post 109 junior team.

Ninth-graders fall to York

Shaq Davidson threw for three touchdowns and Marquis Jackson scored on a 2-point conversion to lead the Gaffney ninth-grade team to a 20-8 win over York on Thursday.

Bryce Spurlin, O'Bryant Davidson and Thomas Hardy were on the receiving end of the TD tosses.

Gaffney improves to 4-3 with the victory.

Jayvees top York Cougars

Quarterback Joey Copeland rushed for three scores to lead the Gaffney junior varsity to a 39- 13 win over York on Thursday.

C.J. Miller also rushed for a score for the Indians.

Chiefs top Whitlock

Greg Ellis had a 40-yard touchdown run and Mike Logan rushed for another TD to lead the Gaffney Middle School Chiefs to a 12-6 victory over Whitlock on Wednesday.

The coaching staff praised the defense for an outstanding effort.
