Tractor Supply facility will cost $1.2 million
Construction workers with Sossamon Construction are demolishing parts of Cherokee Plaza so a $1.2 million Tractor Supply store can be located in the shopping center.
Local residents will soon have a place to go for a wide selection of ranch and farm supplies.
Tractor Supply Co., which bills itself as the largest retail farm and ranch store in the country, has submitted plans to build a 19,000-squarefoot store in Cherokee Plaza. The building plans also include a 16,000- square-foot outside display area for agricultural fencing, livestock equipment and horse stalls.
The building has a price tag of $1.2 million, according to the building plans.
To make way for the Tractor Supply Co., several existing stores will relocate.
Permits have been issued for Goodwill to relocate in a retail space near Dollar General, while Rent-A-Center will occupy a space between Badcock Home Furnishings and Dollar General.
In other construction news, the grading for the Aldi supermarket at the old Gaffney Mall site could begin within several weeks, city officials said.
The supermarket chain submitted plans earlier this month to build an 85,000 square foot store behind McDonald’s at a cost of $900,000.
