Maybe the fourth attempt will be the charm

2009-10-14 / Letters

Dear Editor:

The 2009 Fall Classic Car Show seems to be the never-ending event for the Cherokee Historical & Preservation Society, Inc.

We appreciate your continued support in promoting this annual fundraiser and would like to announce our fourth attempt at the show, this Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the History & Arts Museum, 301 College Drive in Gaffney.

As CHAPS Executive Director Jane Waters stated last week, we are quickly becoming the Susan Lucci of Car Shows. We feel like this week is going to be sunny and beautiful and look forward to having everyone come out to enjoy the day with plenty of activities, like Barrel Train Rides for the kids, combined with the display of antique and collectible cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

It is not too late to register. Forms are available online at www.cherokeecountyhistory.org, or by phone at (864) 489-3988. Pre-registration is only $15 per vehicle. Admission to the event is $3 for adults and $1 for children.

The museum will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thank you again,
Billy Pennington
