CLOSE CALL
A 48-year-old Gaffney woman was taken for treatment following a rear-end collision on Providence Creek Road on Monday afternoon.
Wanda Hough, of Destiny Drive, was stopped on Providence Road and was attempting to make a left turn when her Saturn sedan was rear-ended by a Chevrolet pickup headed north, according to the Gaffney Police Department.
City of Gaffney firefighters and paramedics from Upstate Carolina Medical Center extricated Hough from her vehicle and immobilized her before she was transported for treatment.
According to an accident report, the investigating officer determined the driver of the pickup, Thomas Clark, 57, of Bonner Lake Road, was driving too fast for conditions. It was raining at the time of the accident.
