Dognapper on the loose?
A York Hills resident reported an unusual occurrence last week.
Two dogs went missing from the neighborhood and were found somewhat far away.
While it’s not unusual for a dog, or cat, to give in to a little wanderlust, this situation seemed more than odd.
A little chihuahua house dog, for instance, which is only let outdoors for reasons of a natural kind, went missing and was subsequently found all the way down in the Corinth area.
And a mixed chow, which never leaves a small area around its house and is known as a neighborhood guard dog, was spotted and subsequently recovered downtown.
Since both dogs were found, the dog owners didn’t file police reports. Gaffney Police Department officials, meanwhile, said they weren’t aware of any dognapping problems in that neighborhood.
Regardless, one of the dog owners thought it would be worthwhile for other dog owners in the area to be careful with their pets, just in case.
