SILVER HAIRED LEGISLATURE MEETS – The 11th annual session of the S.C. Silver Haired Legislature was held recently in the Chamber of the State House of Representatives in Columbia. Three resolutions were selected to be presented to the state legislature when it reconvenes in January. They include licensing of non-medical in-home care service companies to include criminal background checks of all in-home care providers; increased funding for in-home and community-based services; and mandatory minimum penalties for acts of abuse, neglect and exploitation committed against vulnerable adults. Cherokee County's delegates are Jack Allison and Eloise Cook.
