Neva Barnes
Neva Victoria Huskey Barnes, 99, of 100 Fairfield Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cleveland County, N.C., she was the widow of Thomas Barnes and daughter of the late Pinkney Huskey and Ola Bradley Huskey. Mrs. Barnes was retired from textiles and a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Barnes Sr. and wife, Peggy, and Gary Barnes, both of Gaffney; a brother, James Pinkney Huskey and wife, Sue, of Marion; a grandson, Dennis Barnes Jr. and wife, Catherine; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Barnes, all of Gaffney; a special niece, Suzanne McLendon and husband, Bart; and a great-nephew, Braeden McLendon, all of Aiken.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wynn Huskey, Anderson Huskey and Ras Huskey; and two sisters, Alice Martin and Valorie Huskey.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the cemetery.
