Mercyhurst blasts
Lady Saints
The Limestone College field hockey team lost to No. 8-ranked Mercyhurst 6-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Saints fall to 1-11 overall as the Lakers improve to 8-5.
Mercyhurst scored four of its goals in the first half, but Limestone held the Lakers to only two goals in the second period.
Limestone’s Julie Medeiros posted seven saves during the contest. Mercyhurst held the 25-1 advantage on shots and the 12-0 advantage on penalty corners.
Anderson tops Lady
Saints
The Limestone College women’s volleyball team lost to Anderson University 3-2 on Wednesday night in Conference Carolinas action.
Limestone’s record falls to 11-13 overall and 7-5 in the conference. The Trojans improve to 12-9 overall and 7-5 in the league.
The scores of the match were 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 16-25, and 15-12.
Limestone’s Danielle Seibert led the team with 23 assists while Laura Kerrison posted 19. Seibert also had 18 digs and 2 aces. Chelsea Anthony had 17 kills, 21 digs and 2 aces. Melissa Thomas had 15 kills and 10 blocks. Jennifer O’Keeffe tallied 10 kills and 8 blocks on the night. Brooke England recorded 14 digs and 2 aces.
Lindsay Doggett led the Trojans with 45 assists and also recorded 28 digs. Katie Rich posted 21 digs, while Adria Mullaney posted 14. Paulette Rivers had four blocks.
Rain washes out
soccer doubleheader
The Limestone College men’s and women’s soccer games scheduled for this afternoon against Anderson University have been postponed due to rain. Make-up dates have not been set.
The Lady Saints and Saints will host Pfeiffer University on Saturday. The women’s game is slated for 2 p.m.
