GHS homecoming festivities set for Oct. 23

A morning reception and registration for returning alumni will begin at 8:45 in the cafeteria, sponsored by the GHS Senate. Copies of the Indian
Post,
featuring articles and photos of the honored classes, will be distributed during the reception.
At 10 a.m., a homecoming assembly will honor alumni from the classes of 1939, 1949, 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989, 1999 and the 25-year reunion of the class of 1984. Alumni of these years from Granard High School will also be welcomed. Skits, dancing and singing, with music selected from the actual year of graduation, will feature student and faculty entertainers. In addition, members of the Homecoming Court, football players and sponsors will be presented during the assembly.
Following the program, alumni will be invited to join the student body at lunch in the cafeteria. At 3 p.m., a pep rally will begin in the school gymnasium, featuring the Gaffney High School Band of Gold and varsity cheerleaders.
At 7:30 p.m., the homecoming game between the Gaffney Indians and Fort Mill High School will be take place at The Reservation. The highlight of the halftime ceremonies will be crowning the homecoming queen, selected by the 2010 senior class.
Faculty chairpersons of the homecoming events are Betsy Jolliff and Leslie Kirtsey. They invite all alumni and guests to join the student body in celebrating the continued pride and tradition of Gaffney High School.
