Workforce Expo planned Oct. 29
SPARTANBURG – The Upstate Workforce Investment Board, in conjunction with Career Source and many other partner agencies, will host the second Upstate Workforce Expo at the Spartanburg Expo Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on October 29.
The purpose of the Upstate Workforce Expo is to help connect job seekers with employment opportunities and other resources that can assist job seekers in achieving their employment goals. Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with employers, submit resumes and applications and attend workshops. In addition, Expo attendees can talk with representatives about entrepreneurial opportunities, meet with education and training providers, and learn about local community organizations that provide employment related services.
The Expo is open to all job seekers (no children) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Preferred Pass holders will be allowed exclusive entrance into the Expo at 9 a.m. Find out how to qualify for a Preferred Pass at www. upstatecareersource. com or call 864.562.4168 to obtain more information. Preferred Passes will be available for those meeting the preferred job seeker criteria at all Career Source and Employment Security Commission locations in Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union counties as well as at other participating locations. There will be a limited number of Preferred Passes available. Career Source in Spartanburg (110 W. Commerce St.) is offering Job Fair Preparation workshops throughout October.
