Spurrier unsure of Brown's return

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says he doesn't think receiver Moe Brown will be cleared to play next Saturday after suffering a concussion against Alabama.

Two defenders hit the senior captain after an 8-yard catch in the first half. Brown was carted off the field on a stretcher and taken to a hospital. He flew home from Tuscaloosa, Ala., with the team.Spurrier said Brown appeared in good spirits but that he thinks doctors will take some time to clear him to return.

Spurrier also said suspended defensive back Akeem Auguste would be available for Saturday's game with Vanderbilt. Also expected back is running back Jarvis Giles, who also was suspended.

Vets to be honored at football game

Maryland and South Carolina will wear uniforms with camouflage designs during their games Nov. 14 to honor military veterans and promote the Wounded Warrior Project.

The black with tan camouflage uniforms, designed by Under Armour, will have a Wounded Warrior logo on them.

Instead of players' names, the backs of the jerseys will have words such as courage, loyalty, integrity and service.

“Ooooh,” South Carolina defensive tackle Ladi Ajiboye said Tuesday after seeing the camouflage cleats the Gamecocks will wear. “I could wear these the whole season.”

The Wounded Warrior Project acts as an advocate for injured service men and women in Washington and provides services and programs for them.
