Betty Allison Blanton, 86, formerly of 683 Draytonville Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late Herbert P. Blanton and the daughter of the late Ellerbe Allison and Ora Moore Allison.

She was a retired secretary with the Cherokee County School District and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She is survived by two nephews, Alex Moss and Ricky Moss, both of Gaffney; one niece, Krista Moss of Tampa, Fla.; and a cousin, Evelyn Swofford of Gaffney.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Terry Duvall officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Blakely Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 216 Macedonia Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.

The family is at their respective homes.
