The $100 in cash from last week’s football contest goes to Jim Aughtry of Gaffney, who correctly predicted the winners of all 12 games.

Two other people also predicted all 12 games correctly, but Aughtry had the closest tie-breaker.

Now that we’ve announced the winner, we’ve got to admit that, boy, do we have egg on our faces after we inadvertently put the wrong games in this week’s version of the contest.

We could say it was all a big Halloween stunt just to see if you were paying attention, but it wasn’t. Nope, we just royally messed up.

So, if you got a copy of Monday’s paper and filled out the football contest, here’s what you should do with it — toss it.

Because the REAL football contest is inside today’s edition. As a matter of fact, it’s on Page 3A.

Please disregard Monday’s contest and use today’s contest instead.
