Oveter Westbrooks
COWPENS – Oveter Elizabeth Kimbrell Westbrooks, 77, of 2064 Bonner Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Cowpens, she was the widow of James Winfred Westbrooks and daughter of the late Toy Kimbrell and Molly Spencer Kimbrell. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of New Pleasant Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, James A. Westbrooks and wife, Susan, of Gaffney; two daughters, Judy W. Wallace and husband, James, of Gaffney and Rita W. Martin and husband, Tim, of Cowpens; a brother, Glenn Kimbrell and wife, Kay, of Cowpens; seven grandchildren, Natalie Jolly, Kristen Chapman, Rebecca Riddle, Mark Martin, Mitchell Martin, Daniel Westbrooks and David Westbrooks; six greatgrandchildren, Owen Chapman, Riley Jolly, Jessika Bowers-Martin, Ryan Riddle (due in December), Baby Chapman (due in January) and Karson Jolly (due in February).
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at New Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Stuart Kersey officiating.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 6- 8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC 29342.
