Furman Mullinax
Furman Mullinax, 70, of 608 11th St., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, Mr. Mullinax was the widower
of Linda Jones
Mullinax and son
of the late Fred and Minnie Martin Mullinax. He worked as a printer in textiles, served in the United States Army, and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Debra Ramsey of Gaffney; a son, Scott Mullinax of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Stephanie Ramsey, Lindsey Ramsey, and Travis Ingram; and a great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Rayn Ingram.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Mullinax was proceeded in death by three brothers, Freelin Mullinax, Dobson Mullinax and Brawley Mullinax, and five sisters Edith Sellars, Millie Gaffney, Alice Parker, Royce Proctor and Bessie Calvert.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Harold Dean Painter.
Pallbearers will be Theral Moore, Henry Duncan, Pete Stroupe, Allen Vinson, Terry Duncan, Bryan Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Byars, Jim Parker and Rick Sellars.
The family is at the home of Debra Ramsey, 424 Roundtree Road
