Grimes O. Drummond
BLACKSBURG – Grimes Olvie (Bud) Drummond, 83, of 713 York Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Hundred, W.Va., he was the widower of Gladys (Polly) Reynolds Drummond and son of the late George W. Drummond and Dora Long Drummond.
Mr. Drummond was self-employed in the
upholstery business
and was a
U.S. Army Air Force veteran. He was a member of Broad River Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Paul Nelson Grigg of Blacksburg and Robert Moore of California; two daughters, Linda Faye Turcato of El Monte, Calif., and Susan Drummond Cox of Walnut, Calif.; a brother, Denny Drummond of Lisbon, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Drummond was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Drummond and Ken Grigg.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 1, from 2-3 p.m. at Broad River Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Eric Nixon officiating. Interment will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broad River Baptist Church, 419 W. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, SC 29702.
