Hydric Posey, 78, of Detroit, Mich., husband of Linda F. Posey, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Beacon Shire Nursing Home.

Son of the late George Posey Sr. and the late Octavia G. Posey, he was born in Gaffney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Hydric "Spanky" Posey Jr., and a daughter, Claudette Knuckles.

He moved to Detroit in 1953 and was retired from Ford Motor Company.

Also surviving are a daughter. Toran H. Posey of Detroit; a son, Jarvis Nolan of Detroit; a sister, Ruth B. Wood of Gaffney; and other relatives.

Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
