Shirley Alexander
Shirley Cabaniss Alexander, 68, of 104 Osment St., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at her residence.
Born in Union, she was the daughter of the late James Ira Cabaniss and Bonnie Roberts Cabaniss. She was formerly married to Bobby R. Alexander. Mrs. Alexander retired from the textile industry and was a homemaker and member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church, where she in the Adult III Women’s Sunday School class.
Surviving are a son, Ricky Alexander of the home; a daughter, Bobbie A. Calvert and husband, Brent, of Gaffney; a brother, Bobby R. Cabaniss and wife, Peggy, of Moraga, Calif.; a sister, Azilee Binns and husband, Frankie, of Chester; and two grandchildren, Kelly Fowler and Casey Fowler, both of Gaffney.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry T. Alexander, and a brother, James Ira Cabaniss Jr.
Services will be held Friday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. at Chester Memorial Gardens in Chester.
Visitation was held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
