READERS ON THE ROAD
 Thomas Dowdle and Cheryl Dowdle along with Shawnquez Davis, Tomocha Davis and Tomansa Dowdle took The Ledger with them on a July 4 trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. Pictured here are Bennie Blalock and Susie Alexander Davis on top of Mt. LeConte in the Great Smokey Mountains. Blalock writes, “It is a 10-mile round-trip hike with a 2,800 foot elevation climb but it is surely worth the effort. It was a little rainy that day but was still quite a view. We are really blessed to have such beauty so close by. I guess by and by many of the best things in life are free.”
