Five sisters – Kathleen Harris Spencer, Guyneda Harris Jolly and Joan Harris Hall, all of Gaffney, Mildred Harris White of Shelby and Gwendolyn Harris Hancock of Greenville – decided they would like to go somewhere and spend some time together, just the five of them.

They talked about it and decided they wanted to go to Gatlinburg, Tenn. They would go in September, hoping the weather would not be too hot or too cold. They would leave on Thursday morning, spend the weekend in Gatlinburg, and arrive home on Sunday.

They had such a good time the first year together that they decid- ed to go again the following year.

As time went on, the sisters decided to make this an annual “vacation.” They also added a few more days to the trip, making it a whole week.

As of this past September, the sisters have made 30 yearly trips to Gatlinburg. And, as always, they enjoyed each day they were together.

There are also three special men in the family, their brothers Bill Harris, Lemuel Harris and Albert Harris.
