Long throws for career high in win

Former Gaffney High star Macolm Long passed for a career high 316 yards and two touchdowns to lead South Carolina State to a 52-10 win over Delaware State.

Rice catches four from Favre

Former Gaffney High star Sidney Rice had four catches for 40 yards in Minnesota's win over Green Bay on Sunday.

Rice entered the game as the third leading receiver in the NFC.

Lady Saints lose finale

The Limestone College field hockey team fell to Christopher Newport University 9-1 in the Lady Saints' season finale on Saturday.

CNU, ranked No. 14 in the latest NCAA Division III national poll, improves to 14-3 on the year as Limestone stands at 1-14.

Christopher Newport had a 6-0 lead after the first half. Kathleen Troutner scored Limestone's lone goal in the 53rd minute as she capitalized on a rebound opportunity. CNU outscored the Lady Saints 3-1 in the second half for the 9-1 victory.

Ninth-graders blank Clover, 35-0

Marquis Jackson had two scoring runs and O'Bryant Davidson ran for a score and returned a punt for a touchdown to lead the Gaffney ninth-grade team to a 35-0 win over Clover on Thursday.

Tommaine Logan caught a TD pass from Shaquille Davidson.

Gaffney Middle doubles up Granard

Greg Ellis had a big day with a TD pass and two rushing touchdowns to lead Gaffney Middle to a 40-20 win over Granard last week.

He also passed for more than 200 yards.

Avery Shippy added a 20-yard scoring run, while Teheran Leach had a pair of TD receptions and Garrison Edwads scored on a 2- point conversion.

Jalen Sims had a touchdown run, rushed for three 2-point conversions and caught a pass for a 2-point conversion.

Jarrett Rainey and the rest of the defense played well, according to the coaching staff.

Lady Saints win on Senior Day

The Limestone College women's volleyball team defeated Conference Carolinas rival Queens University 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

It was also Senior Day for Limestone as the team recognized Chelsea Anthony (Pickens, S.C.), Brooke England (Rochester, N.Y.) and Melissa Thomas (Easley, S.C.).

The scores of the match were 25-20, 25-12, and 25-21. Limestone climbs to 16-14 overall and 10-5 in the league. The Royals stand at 7-21 overall and 3-24 in the conference.

All three of the Lady Saint seniors had strong performances today. Thomas had 14 kills and 3 blocks, while Anthony posted 10 kills, three aces and 11 digs. England led the team with 20 digs.
