Shroud of Turin expert will give lecture Nov. 6 at Sacred Heart Church
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located on the corner of Vernon and Grace streets, will present "The Mystery of the Shroud of Turin: The Case of Authenticity," on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. John Iannone, a Catholic writer, lecturer and filmmaker who has studied the Holy Shroud for 30 years, will present the program.
Is it the ancient burial cloth of Jesus providing in its fabric the story of His death and Resurrection? What do modern blood and DNA studies reveal? Are there images of flowers and pollens on the cloth that trace its history? What do modern forensic pathologists have to say about the wounds? These questions are discussed in this intriguing lecture.
Iannone has done several television programs for PBS and EWTN and recently published The Image and The Rose and the Three Cloths of Christ: The Emerging Treasures of Christianity, his latest book on the shroud.
