Special events

 Rehoboth Baptist Church, 110 Rehoboth Road, will have a tea cup auction on Saturday, Nov. 7. Lunch will be served from 12-1 p.m. featuring a salad and baked potato bar with dessert. An auction drawing starts at 1 p.m. Lunch is $6 with two auction tickets. Meal tickets can be pre-purchased. Additional auction tickets can be purchased for 50 cents each. All money raised at the tea cup auction will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for residents at Ivy Grove Nursing Home.

 The annual Antioch bazaar and breakfast will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Antioch Community on Antioch Road in Blacksburg. There will be door prizes, crafts and baked goods.

 The Senior Centers of Cherokee County, 499 W. Rutledge Ave., will have a Christmas show Friday, Nov. 6, from 5:30-9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be a large variety of Christmas gifts for sale. Admission is free.

Meeting

 Tuesday Woman's Club will meet November 10 at 4 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Joe Moore. Co-hostesses are Mrs. Ed Oliver and Mrs. Allen Maxey. Members are reminded to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Salvation Army.

Benefits

 A benefit barbecue for Ricky Cobb will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Shrine Club, 151 Shrine Club Road.

Special event

 The Army National Guard will host a Military Experience Day on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 3-9 p.m. at the Gaffney Armory, 410 Hampshire Drive. A “Patriot Chopper” will be on hand in addition to displays of various military weapons. There will be a rock climbing wall, a night vision course and much more.
