Grace Owens
Grace Phillips Owens, 89, of Peachtree Centre, formerly of Lacewood Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Fred Owens and daughter of the late Vernon Phillips and Lona Self Phillips Martin. She was a retired caregiver and member of New Heights Baptist Church, where she was very active in sharing her faith in Jesus with others.
She is survived by a daughter, Trysha Blanton and husband, Mack, of Gaffney; a foster son, Billy J. Ledford and wife, Beth, of Madras, Ore.; two brothers, Bobby Martin and Earl Martin, both of Gaffney; a sister, Margie Martin Allison of Gaffney; a granddaughter, Robin Wyatt and her son, David, of Blacksburg; two foster grandsons, Timmy Ledford and 2nd Lt. Billy Joe Ledford, both of Oregon; and a foster granddaughter, Dixie Ledford of Oregon.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by a son, Roger Frederick Owens, and a daughter, Helen Louise Owens.
Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at New Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Sidney Norton officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Blacksburg.
Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

The family will be at the residence of Trysha and Mack Blanton, 130 Lacewood Road.
