Robert Lewis Medley, 85, of 3161 Corinth Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Cherokee County, he was the widower

of Louia

Gibson Medley

and son of the late Christian Barry Medley and Mamie Elizabeth Henderson Medley. He was retired from the textile industry, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by great-nieces and a great nephew.

Mr. Medley was preceded in death by two brothers, Gaither Earl Medley and Chris Barry Medley; a half sister, Annie Lee Blanton; and two infant sisters, Buela Medley and Florance Medley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 3:30-4 p.m. at El Bethel Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the church with Dr. Billy Boone officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
