Michael William Carpenter, 49, died Nov. 1, 2009, in Gaffney.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at McLean Funeral Directors Founders Chapel with the Rev. Jim DuMond officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Gay Carpenter of Belmont, N.C.; a son, Christopher Carpenter of Stanley, N.C.; a daughter, Allison Carpenter of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Gregory Carpenter of San Diego, Calif.; and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1915 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
