Miracle Hill banquet Nov. 12

2009-11-06 / Local News

The Miracle Hill Rescue Mission in Cherokee County will host its annual Awareness & Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, Nov. 12, at Broad River Electric in Gaffney between 6:30-8 p.m. This banquet is being held to raise awareness in the community and to raise funds for operations.

The Mission offers food, shelter, hope, access to other local human service agencies, transitional housing, and GED opportunities. The Mission houses on average 30 men, women and children daily, and offers cold weather overflow shelter in the event that the regular beds are full and the temperature falls below 40 degrees. The Mission meets physical needs and also shares the love of Christ with the clients. During the last fiscal year, this mission served over 700 individuals and served 23,464 meals.

Please visit www.miraclehill. org or contact Cindy Kelly at 877.558.4357 for more information and to register. There is no admission fee; however, registration is required.

Founded in 1937, Miracle Hill Ministries seeks to proclaim the love of God, to bring hope to hungry hearts and to provide physical relief by following our mission: “persons most in need receive food, shelter, and compassion while hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ and becoming productive members of society.”

Miracle Hill, a 501(c)(3) organization, has grown to be a significant provider of emergency shelter services in South Carolina. The organization houses, clothes, feeds and offers counseling and spiritual support to more than 550 struggling individuals each day through outreaches located in Greenville, Pickens, Spartanburg and Cherokee counties.
