Ida Hogue
Minister Ida Mae Porter Hogue of 140 Gregory St., Roebuck, wife of Pastor Bobby Hogue, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, 2009, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital, Spartanburg.
Daughter of Ida Ruth Smith Porter of Spartanburg and the late John H. Porter Sr., she was a native of Spartanburg County and a member and co-pastor of Remnant Holy Tabernacle.
Also surviving are four daughters, Victoria Johnson, Mariah Hogue, both of Spartanburg, Chassidy Hogue and Courtney Hogue, both of Gaffney; a son, Corbin Hogue of Gaffney; seven sisters, Roberta T. Porter, Shirley P. Posey, Dr. Janice M. Porter, Joyce D. Porter, Rhonda C. Porter, Tyra M. Porter, all of Spartanburg, and Alisa P. Rupe of Sylvania, Ohio; six brothers, Dr. John H. Porter, James M. Porter, Charles E. Porter, Willie E. Porter, Eddie W. Porter and Comic O. Porter, all of Spartanburg; a granddaughter, an uncle, mother-in-law and father-in-law, and a host of other relatives.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. at Holden Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. J. E. O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
The family is at the home of her mother, Ida R. Porter, 338 Pioneer Place, Spartanburg.
