Randolph Savage Jr.

25-year employee of PPG Industries

Randolph “Bubba” Savage Jr., 79, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.

Son of the late Randolph Savage Sr. and the late Ellen Tate Savage, he was born April 11, 1930, in Gaffney and was a 25- year employee of PPG Ind.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mothers of his children, Aneatha Smith Savage and Sara McDowell Savage; a son, Jackie L. McDowell; a granddaughter, Miaja C. Woods; two brothers, Oscar Savage and George Savage; three sisters, Vianne Savage Woods, Nancy Savage Phillips and Lucille Savage Norris.

Surviving are four sons, Luther Savage of Gaffney, David Savage of Spartanburg, Barrington Savage and Charles Savage, both of Shelby; two daughters, Katrina S. Mitchell of Shelby and Carolyn S. Palmer of Gaffney; three step children, Merritt B. Talbert of Charlotte, Stephaine Boyd-Rogers of Houston, Texas, and Brian Boyd of Charlotte; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor M. Lamont Littlejohn officiating.

The family is at the home of Jackie and Katrina Savage Mitchell, 109 Chambwood Lane, Shelby.
