James Wilkie
James Elmore Wilkie, 80, of 347 Wilkie Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Hazel Smith Wilkie and son of the late Dewey Wilkie and Ollie Spencer Wilkie. He was retired from Cherokee Finishing and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three sons, Steve Wilkie and wife, Ruth, of Gaffney, Marshall Wilkie of the home and Tracy Wilkie and wife, Angie, of Gaffney; a daughter, Kathy Mullinax and husband, Ezell, of Gaffney; two brothers, Clarence Wilkie and wife, Shirley, and Buford Wilkie and wife, Sherry, all of Gaffney; three sisters, Lorie Pierce, Gladys Lamb, both of Gaffney, and Lois Dillinger of Chester; four grandchildren, Brian Wilkie, Cindy Beaty, Amber Mullinax and Beth Wilkie; five great grandchildren, Austin Wilkie, Kelsi Wilkie, Tristen Moss, Jonathan Moss and Chloe Beaty; and one step greatgranddaughter, Clary Beaty.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilkie was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 8, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church. Services immediately followed at 3:30 p.m. at the church with Dr. Dwight Easler and the Rev. Joel Gardner officiating. Interment was in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
