Bloodmobile
The Piedmont Blood Center’s bloodmoible will be at the following locations in Cherokee County this month: Munchies Gas and Go in Blacksburg, Friday, Nov. 13, 12-6 p.m.; Calvary Baptist Church, Gaffney, a special collection for leukemia patient Charlie Ivey, Sunday, Nov. 15, 12:30-4:30 p.m.; and Walmart in Gaffney, Saturday, Nov. 28, 12-7 p.m.
Fund raisers
Altrusa of Gaffney will hold its annual fund raiser to benefit local charities on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation on College Drive. A soup luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for vegetable soup, cornbread, dessert and tea. Eat in or take out.
The Blacksburg Athletic Booster Club is selling Boston butts for $30 each as a fund raiser. Payment and orders are due by Nov. 18. Orders may be picked up at Blacksburg High School before noon on Nov. 21. To place an order or for more information, call 8964- 425-6776 or 864-761-7103
Church news Southside Baptist Church, 204 W. O’Neal St., will host a unique event on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 4- 8 p.m. “The County Fair” is for all ages. Park Hills Baptist Church on Leadmine Road will have a Veteran’s Day service on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. The Broad River Leathernecks will take part in the service with the presentation of the colors. Michael Steagall and Melena Steagall, members of Park Hills Church and the Gaffney High School ROTC, will do the pledges.
