Mamie Hannon
KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. – Mamie Mullinax Hannon, 90, of 716 Sipes St., passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at White Oak Manor.
Born in Cleveland County, Mrs. Hannon was the widow of Carl Herbert Hannon and daughter of the late John and Fanny Bell Hamm Mullinax. She worked in textiles and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Minnick and husband, Tom, of Davenport, Iowa; three sons, Herb Hannon and wife, Angela, of Myrtle Beach, Roger Hannon and wife, Cyndi, of Shelby and Jerry Hannon of Lattimore, N.C.; a sister, Jeanette Turner of Grover; five grandchildren, Brian Minnick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tiffany Hannon and companion, Mark Boyd Sr., of Shelby, Dylan Hannon of Myrtle Beach, Shelly Smith of Baltimore, Md., and Tammy Herron; and two great-grandsons, Mark Boyd Jr. and Lee Herron.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hannon was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Hannon; a grandson, Jeremy Hannon; six brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 1-2 p.m. Chapel services will follow immediately at 2 p.m., with the Revs. Johnny Owens and J. Barry Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
