SMOKE, BUT NOTHING SERIOUS — City of Gaffney firefighters responded in full force to a possible structure fire at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on West Floyd Baker Boulevard on Monday morning just before lunch time. Firefighters had been informed of smoke coming from a heating and cooling vent and, upon inspection, discovered a motor in a rooftop air handler had shorted out. No other damage was reported. Customers were temporarily evacuated until firefighters discovered the problem.
