The staff of Food Lion took care of her

Dear Editor:

As the holiday season begins to get under way, it often seems kindness gets pushed to the side as people rush from one place to the other. Tempers run short and no one seems to have time to help anyone else. But this was not my experience last Thursday.

I am a 70-year-old, severe diabetic. My blood sugar dropped suddenly as I was shopping alone in Food Lion in Blacksburg. I quickly became disoriented and even lost consciousness for a short period of time.

The staff of Food Lion reached out to me and took care of me throughout this ordeal. They even drove me home and made sure that I got safely into my house.

When I returned to the store the next day, numerous employees stopped to check on me, some of whom I did not even remember from the previous day.

During this time of year, some people have to search to find something for which to be thankful. I am proud to say I am not one of those people. I have the staff of the Food Lion in Blacksburg who blessed my life.
Sincerely,
Mary Lee Tessner
Blacksburg, S.C.
