Katie Humphries Reynolds Greene

NEW ELLENTON – Katie Humphries Reynolds Greene, 78, beloved wife of Carl C. Greene, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A native of Gaffney, Mrs. Greene was a daughter of the late Oris and Sue Phillips Humphries. She had lived in New Ellenton since 1953 and was a former member of the New Ellenton Town Council. Katie was first married to the late E. Dean Reynolds. She was a retired purchasing agent at Glaxo- SmithKline and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, where she served for many years as the recording secretary.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Carl, include two sons, Ronald D. Reynolds Sr. and J. Mark Greene, both of New Ellenton; a daughter, Linda Greene (Tom) Pipkin of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Sydelle (Kevin) Young of New Ellenton, Ronald D. Reynolds Jr. of Tupelo, Miss., and Lin (Todd) Stephens of Gray, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Young, Jayden Stephens and Steven Baxley; and a niece, Kay Reynolds (Don) Hensley of Gaffney.

Services were held Sunday, Nov. 15, at Corinth Baptist Church. Interment took place Monday, Nov. 16, at noon in Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery in Gaffney.
