BLACKSBURG – Bessie Louise Smith, 58, of 212 Jones St., died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was a daughter of Hazel Pearson Smith and the late Boyd Lee Smith Sr. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Dorian Smith of the home and Dustin Smith of Gaffney; two daughters, April Smith of Gaffney and Amy Smith of the home; five brothers, Boyd Smith Jr., Joe Smith, Jackie Smith, Timothy Smith (Kisha) and David Smith; three sisters, Marsha Rainey, Hazel Smith, and Phoebe Smith, all of Gaffney; an uncle, Heyward Pearson of Greenville; an aunt, Julie Burgess of Campobell.; and four grandchildren.

The family is at the home of Marsha Rainey, R-83 Limestone Courts.

Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Smith officiating, assisted by the Revs. Antoinette Gardner and Marvin Tate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.
